Field Service Foreman – Turbomachinery, Rotating Equipment

Job Description:

  • Lead and supervise millwrights, mechanics, and subcontractors during field service projects.
  • Establish daily work plans, assign tasks, and ensure safe and efficient project execution.
  • Maintain accountability for workmanship, schedule adherence, safety performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct pre-job meetings, safety briefings, and toolbox talks.
  • Direct the disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, installation, and commissioning of turbomachinery and rotating equipment.
  • Provide technical leadership during maintenance and overhaul activities involving:
  • Verify critical measurements, tolerances, clearances, and alignment requirements in accordance with OEM specifications.
  • Serve as the primary field contact between customers, Project Managers, Technical Advisors, and field crews.
  • Communicate project progress, technical findings, manpower requirements, and schedule updates.
  • Support outage planning, work scope development, and field execution strategies.
  • Oversee machinery installation, precision shaft alignment, mechanical fit-up, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
  • Lead permit activities and ensure compliance with customer and company safety procedures.
  • Conduct pre-job meetings, safety briefings, and toolbox talks.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of field service experience supporting turbomachinery and rotating equipment.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience leading field crews as a Foreman, Lead Millwright, Lead Mechanic, or equivalent supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience with steam turbines, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment.
  • Experience working with equipment manufactured by one or more major OEMs such as Baker Hughes, Siemens Energy, GE Vernova, Mitsubishi Power, Solar Turbines, Elliott Group, MAN Energy Solutions, Dresser-Rand, or Atlas Copco.
  • Strong knowledge of precision measurement, shaft alignment, and rotating equipment overhaul practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Teams.
